RESPONSE ABILITY: Transforming Values Into Action is a “reality”-style educational video package that brings viewers to understand how group dynamics can prevent people from taking action to stop dangerous or unhealthy behaviors. It is based on the work of Alan Berkowitz, who was an expert consultant for the project. Part I features a compelling "reality-style" discussion of the issue among a group of undergraduates, who met together for a weekend retreat. Part II shows Dr. Berkowitz demonstrating intervention skills.  A facilitator’s guide is included. The bystander DVD was originally developed for Greeks, using a diverse group of fraternity and sorority undergraduates, but the material is relevant to other audiences.  Issues addressed include: hazing, substance abuse, sexual assault and domestic violence, racism, homophobia, and eating disorders.
